Somewhere in the middle of the Southern Ocean

Returning from Davis Station to Hobart, the journey taking two weeks on the VNAA – Aurora Australis. One of the most amazing experiences and probably the most difficult photo I have ever taken. With the ship rocking and rolling from side to side in the middle of the Southern Ocean and extremely low light conditions. After some time, I realised the ship would stop rocking approximately every 2-3 minutes allowing just enough time for a 2.5 second exposure.
